Free screenings! Meet the Filmmaker, opening night, Dec 16, from 5pm - 9pm! Wilfred is a touching story about a curious 4-year-old boy who discovers his 85-year-old friend has developed memory loss. Directed and written by Stratford native Samuel G. Davey, and filmed in Stratford Ontario.

About the event

Join us December 16 2022,  in our twelve seat movie theatre, the Canadian Premiere of Wilfred, a ten minute short film Directed by Stratford native Samuel G. Davey and starring actors Marion Adler, Seana McKenna, and John Dolan. The film (based on the best-selling Australian children's book Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge and filmed here in Stratford Ontario,) is a heartwarming story that explores dementia, memories, and the relationship between children and the elderly. 

All screenings are free to attend and will occur every 30 minutes from 5 - 9pm. Drop-ins are welcome, but booking a ticket online is encouraged as our space is very small. Filmmaker Samuel G. Davey will be on hand throughout the evening of December 16 to answer questions and discuss the film and its themes.

In collaboration with Samuel G. Davey and Lights On, the Little Prince Cine-Lounge will feature an art installation in our large front windows which ask you to explore the question “what is a memory?” A comments book will be on hand for you to write your own answer in response to this question.

The Lights On Festival, with installations scattered throughout Stratford, is open to the Public and runs nightly 5-10 PM including Christmas and New Years.

Free screenings of Wilfred will continue every continue throughout the length of the festival, every Wednesday to Sunday, at 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm, schedule permitting. 

The "culture cab" will be running during this event and will be avalible to take you to all lights on events including the one right across the street in Market Square. As well as a free shuttle bus.

Lights On Stratford works in partnership with local charitable organizations each year to provide fundraising potental and increase awareness. this year they are pround to support Alzheimer Society-Huron Perth. please consider donating.

The Little Prince Lobby Lounge and fully stocked concession will be open daily and fresh movie theatre popcorn, soft drinks, house made cotton candy, wine, beer, and sparkling wine will be available.

Washrooms are located on site and are available to the public. One washroom is wheelchair accessible and includes a change table.
